Films4Tenby double bill: Clifford the Big Red Dog and Elvis on 23rd August

Films4Tenby will be having another double bill on 23rd August at the De Valence. The first film with the doors opening at 3:30pm and the film starting at the earlier time of 4:00 will be Clifford the Big Red Dog (2021, 96 mins, cert PG) based on the children’s books by Norman Bridwell and starring Jack Whitehall, Sienna Guillory and John Cleese. We will be following this with the doors opening at 6:30 and the film starting at 7pm with our most-requested film of the year so far, Elvis (2022,159 mins, cert 12). The story of the life of the King comes from visionary director Baz Luhrmann (Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Australia, The Great Gatsby) brought to the screen with his trademark dazzling energy and style and stars Austin Butler as Elvis Presley (who won Best Actor at the Hollywood Critics Midseason Awards for his efforts) with the ever-brilliant Tom Hanks as Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker, Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley and Richard Roxburgh as Vernon Presley. Other familiar characters in the cast include Little Richard, producer Sam Phillips, and singers Mahalia Jackson and Big Mama Thornton. The film went on to become the second highest grossing music biopic of all-time after Bohemian Rhapsody and Elvis’ daughter Lisa-Marie Presley has called it ‘nothing short of spectacular’. Come and join us if you can for a rocking evening of fun and be prepared to end up All Shook Up!. Admission is £5 on the evening, £4 for Members, £10 for a Family of Four.
